Street Love

It's been a great week in Honduras, we got to go to jail (haha) and minister to some of the girls there, share some testimonies and build relationships! We are also working in a small community doing children ministry. We also went to feeding center and did many other things. But the one that impacted me most was the ministry at night on the streets, talking and sharing with the addicts, prostitutes and transvestites. There was a woman named Maritza, she had 4 kids, and she had to do this kind of "work", if we could called like that... because she didn't have other jobs opportunities, after talking to her for a while, she asked for prayer, so we did. After that 3 other women arrived in a taxi and joined us. Then we invited them to hear some of our testimonies and after that I felt I should play a song for them, it was about God's love and how God loves them so much, how they are beautiful before God's eyes, even when they don't see themselves like that. After playing the firts couple of words, the four ladies started to cry and I could feel the love of God surronding all of us in the street that late night, while the cars were passing by us and slowing down so they could pick up any of those ladies. The ladies were so touched by what was happening that they didn't want to go with the "clients" instead they wanted to keep hearing about God's love.
It's so incredible how much need of love this world has... How a mother of 4 children is so hungry to find her identity in God and not in what this world tells her... And what brakes my heart is that we are the ones who should show that love to them and sometimes we just don't take the time to see someone in the street who is begging
and say good day to him, or an addict that hasn't had a meal in who knows how long... and give him a sandwich. I don't know if that is gonna solve the problem, but I don't know if that is what God wants to use to touch there hearts at that moment like a love song did for 4 women on the streets that night...
